In 1837 Captain James Byrne founded a town on the Lamar Peninsula, and established a port of entry to compete with Aransas City. The Town of Rockport was founded in 1867. George Fulton completed his mansion in 1877 (now a Historical landmark) in the community known as Fulton, next to Rockport.

The Grand Lodge Of Texas
Masonry in Texas goes back before this land was a State. In fact it goes back so far, Masonry in Texas started before Texas was even its own sovereign republic. Many of those who fought in the Alamo were Freemasons, as were many of the founders of this great state, including many of the Republics Presidents.
South Texas York Rite Bodies
The York Rite Bodies of South Texas is composed of four Chapters of Royal Arch Masons of Texas; four Councils of Royal and Select Masters of Texas; three Commanderies of Knights Templar of Texas; a York Rite College of North America and a Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine.

Al Amin Shrine
The Al Amin Shrine was formed from the Coastal Bend Shrine Club of Alzafar Shrine in San Antonio. The charter was granted in 1973. Our first home was on Alameda in Corpus Christi. In 1980 the current building was completed. The Pavilion was added in the 1990’s. The Al Amin Shrine has six Shrine Clubs throughout South Texas.
